Launch Day Notes

July 28, 2026 unlock window

Mumpitz Games locked July 28, 2026 as the Steam release date in the June 15 announcement. Earlier on that calendar day some storefront views may still show a countdown (“plans to unlock in X hours”) depending on region and Steam cache. Wishlist app 4594150 so you receive the unlock notification instead of refreshing blindly.

Price may appear only when the buy button activates - public key trackers showed no confirmed number before unlock. Do not trust leaked guesses; check Steam.

What the full release promised

Official pre-launch messaging repeatedly promised:

  • More levels than the demo/playtest slice
  • More towers beyond the familiar Gunner / Flamethrower / Mortar / Cannon set teased in tools
  • A ton of new upgrades and some unspoiled systems
  • About four to six hours for a complete clear
  • Single-player trench defense on Windows and SteamOS Linux

Treat demo mastery as a head start, not a spoiler-free full route. Reading order for returners: Demo vs Full Game, then Walkthrough Hub.

Demo systems that still matter on day one

Carry these habits from June patches into the full build:

  • Orc move speed increases per level
  • Level select shows enemy counts
  • Flamethrower ticks are reliable but per-tick damage was tuned down
  • Flat Bonus Resources needs a finished run
  • Pause-menu multi strafing is fixed - respect cooldowns
  • Damage Statistics and ability panels exist to settle build arguments

Changelog detail: Patch Notes. Economy caveat: Bonus Resources.

Launch-week community themes

Steam discussions on launch eve already loop on:

  • Estimated price (unknown until store unlock)
  • Flamethrower OP debates
  • Level 5 tower-only challenges
  • Endless mode requests (not confirmed as shipping)
  • “Game doesnt start” Vulkan/driver issues
  • Wishlist for map editors / difficulty modes

Use FAQ Hub, Flamethrower Strategy, Level 5 Walkthrough, and Troubleshooting instead of doomscrolling threads.

Day-one checklist

  1. Confirm Vulkan 1.3 and 4 GB RAM - System Requirements.
  2. Install full game (and optionally keep demo for comparison).
  3. Complete one scout + farm + push loop on the first maps - Getting Started.
  4. Unlock Damage Statistics early if present - Combat Upgrades.
  5. Spend with Upgrade Priority or the Upgrade Planner.
  6. Rebuild chokes when speed ramps - Tips and Tricks.

Wishlist and audience context

The project passed 50k then 100k wishlists before launch after a playtest that peaked near 827 concurrent and tens of thousands of players. That heat funded polish (GPU explosions, better result screens) and a short campaign aimed at evening-plus-weekend clears - see Game Review.

After launch patches

When post-launch notes appear on Steam news, append them to Patch Notes first, then update strategy pages that mention Flamethrower ticks, Bonus Resources, or ability exploits. This Launch Day page stays historical context for July 28 unlock behaviour.

First-hour expectations

Do not expect a cinematic tutorial dump on unlock. The demo already taught scout, farm, and push loops - the full release extends that rhythm with new choke layouts and upgrade nodes. If your first map feels easier than Level 5 in the demo, that is intentional pacing, not a broken difficulty curve. Spend ten minutes re-reading How to Play if you skipped the demo, then compare your opening tower mix against Turret Tier List before chasing forum builds.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Why does Steam still show a countdown on July 28?

Unlock rolls across regions and caches. Wishlist the app for a notification instead of assuming the date label alone means the buy button is live everywhere.

Should I delete the demo?

Optional. Keep it if you want a reference, but play the full release for new maps and upgrades.

What should I unlock first on launch day?

Gunners, a basic income node, then Damage Statistics when available. Follow Upgrade Priority after your first two farm runs.
